Secrets
Keep the API keys and passwords your Code neurons use. Values are stored encrypted and never shown again.
Secrets keeps the API keys and passwords your Code neurons use, so they never sit in your code. Open it from the profile menu at the right of the top bar: click your name, then Secrets.
Add a secret
- Type a name in capitals, such as
FX_API_KEY(spaces become_), and the value. - Click Add secret.
The value is stored encrypted and never shown again: the list shows only names, when each was updated and when it was last used. Click Replace to give a new value, or Delete to remove it; code that still uses a deleted secret fails until you add it again.
Use a secret
A Code neuron reads a secret by its name; see Code. If the value as you typed it, or a common escaped form of it (such as inside quotes in JSON or in a web address), appears in a log, an error or an output, it shows as ••••. A value your code has changed into another form, such as base64, a part of the value, or a value split across lines in an unusual way, is not hidden, so don't log those.
Secrets in agents
When you publish an agent whose code reads a secret, you choose who provides it: Mine or User provides. Users never see a secret's value. See Publishing.
Limits
- Secrets: up to 50 secrets, each value up to 10,000 characters.
